Vibrant, diverse, and low-maintenance: Wildflower meadow mixes are perfect for creating a natural, colorful landscape that attracts pollinators and adds beauty to any garden. This blend of annuals and perennials is designed to create a self-sustaining, hardy meadow with long-lasting blooms throughout the growing season. It’s ideal for creating eco-friendly landscapes with minimal maintenance.

Direct Sowing: Sow wildflower meadow seeds directly into the soil in early spring or late fall, when the soil temperature is between 55°F and 75°F. Prepare the ground by removing weeds and loosening the soil. Broadcast the seeds evenly across the area and lightly press them into the soil, either by raking or using a roller. Water gently to keep the soil moist until the seeds germinate, which may take anywhere from 7 to 21 days. Once the meadow is established, it requires little care.

Early Sowing for Seedlings: If starting seeds indoors, begin 6–8 weeks before the last expected frost date, using seed trays filled with a well-draining potting mix. Maintain a temperature between 65–70°F to promote strong germination. Once the seedlings have grown sufficiently, harden them off before transplanting them to the meadow area, spacing them 12–18 inches apart, depending on the variety.

Harvesting: Wildflower meadows can be harvested for cut flowers when blooms are at their peak. To ensure continued growth, avoid cutting too much at once. For perennial wildflowers, allow the flowers to go to seed naturally after blooming to ensure they reseed for the following season. Annuals should be harvested once they begin to fade, while leaving some flowers to set seeds.
