Vibrant, peaceful, and full of energy: The Cosmic Zen mix brings together the bold, bright blooms of Zinnia with the airy, delicate flowers of Cosmos. This harmonious blend creates a serene garden atmosphere with colors ranging from vivid reds and oranges to soft pinks and whites. These plants attract pollinators and are perfect for adding both height and texture to flower beds, borders, or containers.

Direct Sowing: Sow seeds directly into the soil after the last frost date when the soil temperature has reached at least 55°F. Scatter the seeds evenly and lightly press them into the soil, or lightly rake them to cover. Keep the soil consistently moist during the germination period, which typically takes 7–14 days. Once the seedlings are established, thin them to about 10–12 inches apart to allow for proper growth and air circulation.

Early Sowing for Seedlings: Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last expected frost date. Use seed trays with a well-draining potting mix and maintain a temperature of 70°F for optimal germination. Once the seedlings have developed their first true leaves and outdoor temperatures are suitable, harden them off and transplant them into the garden. Space them 10–12 inches apart to allow room for healthy growth.

Harvesting: Harvest Zinnia and Cosmos flowers when they are fully open and vibrant. For the best quality, cut the stems early in the morning when the flowers are cool and fresh. These flowers are excellent for fresh bouquets or can be dried by hanging them upside down in a cool, dry place. Regularly remove spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering throughout the growing season.
